Sold the kilt and pawned the dirk,
The British Army’s oot o’ work,
And a’ because some English Clerk,  has set the Empire free. 

First the Aussies and the Skish, Then auld Gandhi and his Sikhs, Noo we anely guard the Micks, Soon we’ll guard Portree.

 We were gi’en the chance tae vote,
But we tore each other’s throat
Noo we’ve gone and missed the boat
Oor plans have gang aglee.

 Fifty five hae voted “Nay,”
Forty Five will hae tae stay,
Independence slipped away,
Repeating history.

 Scots wa’ hae will no’ be free,
While there’s ile in the North Sea,
Cameron no a Wallace be,
That auld English jobbee.
